Robert Hamilton – Principal
Robert Hamilton is the Principal and Senior Theatre Consultant at DWD. Possessing an MFA in Theatre Design from the University of British Columbia, Robert is a passionate and insightful design innovator with an innate love for the performing arts and stage technologies.
Since joining DWD in 1988, Robert has spearheaded more than 100 theatre design projects across Western Canada, including the development of the River Rock Casino Theatre, Bell Performing Arts Centre, and the restoration of UBC’s prized Old Auditorium.
Robert taught in Douglas College’s Stagecraft and Event Technology Program from 1989 – 2015. He is an active member of the Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology and the OISTAT Architecture Commission.
Robert volunteers with the Long Reach Long Riders and the First Night Riders, motorcycle tours in aid of various theatrical charities.
